Source of Heat Generation in Machining

            Heat effect the hardness of the cutting tool .it is found that at high-temperature cutting tool property changes that means it less wear resistance and change its dimensions. heat also reduces the machining accuracy, changes the dimension of a machined part, surfaces, and bad surface finish. that's why it is important to find out the source of heat generation during the metal cutting operation.



    The Source of Heat Generation During the Metal Cutting Process are as follows:

      1) Friction between tool and workpiece.    

        2) Rub or incorrectly ground cutting tool.

        3) Cutting speed too high.

        4) Formation of a built-up edge on the cutting face of the tool.   

        5) Poor surface finish on the cutting face of the tool.
